About this course
Professional Caliber Security in partnership with RAM training services RTO #31701 runs a regular Cash in Transit course, this course is needed to add the Cash-in-Transit function to your security licence. This one day course covers the Certificate III in Security Operations modules: CPPSEC3050A, CPPSEC3051A, CPPSEC305SA.
This course will give you the knowledge and practical skills to work effectively as an unarmed Cash in Transit (CIT) Security Officer. Through a combination of theory and practical, you will receive training on the legalities, reporting, responsibilities and an overall introduction to the Cash in Transit industry.
For any security guards who have already obtained their licence, and only need to complete the modules to add specific functions to their licence, we also offer a one day course in Body Guarding. Each module is $200 each.
Alternatively, you can choose to complete the five day Certificate III in Security Operations course which incorporates Body Guarding, Monitoring, Cash-in-Transit, and training to prepare you for supervisory or managerial positions.
This course is made up of three units:
- CPPSEC3050A Load and unload cash in transit in an unsecured environment
- CPPSEC3051A Implement cash-in-transit security procedures
- CPPSEC305SA Inspect and test cash-in-transit security equipment
On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the three units as partial completion of the Certificate III in Security Operations.
Who should do this course?
Anyone who already has a Certificate II in Security Operations and wants to work as a Cash-in-transit Security Officer.
Providing you are 18 years of age or older at the time of applying and you have successfully completed this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the 3 units as partial completion of the Certificate III in Security Operations. On completion of this course you will be able to apply for your Security Officer (unarmed and cash in transit) Licence for security work at jobs such as shopping centres, patrol, and cash escorts, considering you have already attained your Certificate II in Security Operations.
The Office of Fair Trading charges approximately $475.80 for a 1 year multi-function licence, and includes a criminal history check and fingerprinting prior to approving your application. This process can take anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks. The Office of Fair Trading charges approximately $65 to add any further functions to your licence plus $38.40 for a criminal history check if you have not completed one in the past 3 months.
Please note: Any criminal convictions that are identified during the search that have been within the last 10 years will automatically result in an unsuccessful application to obtain your security licence.
